The personal data of over 500 million Facebook users has been posted online in a low-level hacking forum. The data includes phone numbers, full names, location, email address, and biographical information.
Data from hundreds of millions of Facebook users was leaked online, including personal information such as phone numbers, full names, and email addresses, Business Insider writes. The leaked data from 533 million users in 106 countries was posted on an obscure hacking forum. The data is believed to be more than a year old, but security experts say the information could still be used by criminals to commit identity fraud.

It’s all the kind of information that may already have been leaked or scraped from some other source, but it’s yet another resource that links all that data together—and ties it to each victim—presenting tidy profiles to scammers, phishers, and spammers on a silver platter.
Facebook (FB) said the data is from a previously reported breach that occurred in 2019. “We found and fixed this issue in August 2019,” Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone told many news channels.
Within the four months another data breach trend. The same entire exposed data has been posted on the hacking forum for free and widely available to anyone with rudimentary data skills.
All 533,000,000 Facebook records were just leaked for free.

This means that if you have a Facebook account, it is extremely likely the phone number used for the account was leaked.
I have yet to see Facebook acknowledging this absolute negligence of your data. https://t.co/ysGCPZm5U3 pic.twitter.com/nM0Fu4GDY8
Troy Hunt, the Australian security researcher who runs the HaveIBeenPwned breach-notification website, has added the 533 million phone numbers which were showing in the Hacking forum. Here, you can even search your email but hunt said some millions of emails only he has for the search result.
So, I tried searching for my own email ID and phone number. As per result my personal detail also been leaked among those 533 million Facebook users. Try your email and phone number, The phone number should be in an international format like in below picture
In a blog post (April 6) Hunt explained that “I’d never planned to make phone numbers searchable,”. “The Facebook data changed all that.”
As Bleeping Computer reports, Included in the data leak are the phone numbers for three of Facebook’s founders – Mark Zuckerberg, Chris Hughes, and Dustin Moskovitz, which are the 4th, 5th, and 6th members first registered on Facebook.
I’ve seen at least one other website offering to check your phone number against the Facebook leak. As this is exactly the sort of thing scammers might set up to get your data, I recommend sticking with HaveIBeenPwned.
